Nicole Conrad is a cosmetology educator, artist, and entrepreneur with nearly 30 years of industry experience. Known for her energetic, inclusive teaching style, she blends technical skill with creativity to help students find their unique voice in beauty.
A graduate of the Aveda Institute in Minneapolis, she trained with industry icons like Sonia Peterson (Hairpolice), Vidal Sassoon, Aveda, and Dermalogica. Today, she teaches hair, makeup, nails, and more across Western North Carolinaβespecially loving topics like cosmetology history, special effects makeup, and avant-garde artistry.
Outside the classroom, Nicole creates handmade accessories and stylist merch with her son, built around connection, creativity, and kindness. With an Executive MBA from Grand Canyon University, she brings both heart and strategy to everything she does.

Nicole was the owner, operator, stylist, and instructor at Blue Monkey Hair Salon and Cosmetology School in Santa Fe, NM, until its closure in 2008. She has a deep passion for education and values meaningful interactions with students and colleagues. Her goal is to foster respectful relationships through creativity, honesty, positive encouragement, and strong listening skills.
